Overview
It had been a dream of mine to visit Australia for many years, so when I heard about Mission Building, I was eager to try it out. It would be the first mission trip that I would go on alone. I was a little nervous about traveling halfway around the world on my own, but at the same time I was willing to trust God to guide me where He led.
Overall, the trip was a great way for me to learn about being willing to serve and do whatever it is that God asks you to do without complaining, whether it is cleaning mildew off the ceiling of the bathroom, formatting documents, working in a cafe, managing a clothing shop, or petting wallabies.

YouthStreet
YouthStreet is basically a little tiny one-way street, Crown Street which is located right off of a main street in the center of downtown Newcastle. The goal of YWAM is to eventually own the entire street, close it off and make a street where kids can hang out, and just be kids. They already have two different businesses, the first is a cafe, the Crown International Cafe that speciallizes in coffee and quesadillas (something not a lot of of other places around here sell). They also sell pancakes, cookies, and sandwiches. Adjoining the cafe is a small shop, called the Shop Concept, that sells clothes for teens. Nearby is also the office of YWAM, there are actually two offices, the first is called the lobby and is upstairs in between the shop and the cafe. The other is down the main street a ways and that one also has the rooms where the DTS and SOE's meet.
All Access is a time when youth throughout the community come to YouthStreet and pay a small amount of money to do various things with different "teams." For example, a surfing team goes surfing (brr!!! I can't imagine surfing as cold as it is!) a skating team goes to various skate parks. There is also a music team, an art team and a few others. The goal of this is to encourage youth to see that Christians are just normal people, were not freaks, and we love to have fun. It is also a goal to include them in All Access, then invite them to LiveWire, which follows and is more like a youth group, praise, worship, and learning time.
